I absolutely agree with you on the fact that it is a very useful way to share all kinds of information and I myself use myspace to to share pics music and so on. However, I would be quite careful with blogs posted by companies. This is a very easy way for them to only spread the company information the company wants to share meaning the information might be a little bias.
